Working with Adversity

Lopön Barbara Ryan

Lopön Barbara Ryan

A difficult and challenging time can be taken as the opportunity to express in the outer world our highest inner understanding of the teachings of the Buddhadharma. In the face of rising tensions and difficulties, it is important to honor what we have learned from our practice and study about how to embody wisdom, strength, patience, and inner stillness. In this way even the most arduous trials can be met with confidence in our inherent Buddhanature and the motivation to be of benefit to others.

In this weekend program, we will incorporate both the teachings of H.E. Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche on “Spiritual Practice at Times of Crisis” given at Lotus Garden this summer as well as her teachings given at Mindrol Ösel Ling on “Karma and the Importance of Merit”.

Note: There will be a follow-up study group in November led by Julie Heegaard. Date TBA.

This program is open to everyone.
